Day 1: Depart the US
Depart the U.S. on your United Airlines flight bound for Tokyo, Japan.

Day 2: Arrive Tokyo
Arrive at Narita Airport; Limo Bus transfer to your hotel.
Day 3: Tokyo
Morning sightseeing includes the Meiji Shrine, Imperial East Garden (or Imperial Palace Plaza), Asakusa Kannon Temple and the Nakamise Shopping Arcade. Continue on a drive through the bustling Ginza areas. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 4: Tokyo/Mt. Fuji/Hakone/Tokyo
Depart Tokyo by motorcoach to imposing Mt. Fuji. Drive up to the Fifth Station for breathtaking views of the surrounding lake-dotted environs. After lunch, drive to Hakone. Enjoy a cruise on Lake Ashi and the Komagatake Aerial Cableway. Late afternoon return to Tokyo.

Day 5: Tokyo/Takayama
Depart Tokyo this morning by Express Bus to the ancient city of Takayama; afternoon arrival and transfer to your hotel by shuttle bus. Remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 6: Takayama/Kyoto
The morning walking tour of Takayama city includes a visit to Takayama Jinya, the and the Kusakabe Folkcraft Museum, formerly the residence of powerful merchants. Walk along the streets of Kami Sannomachi, with its extraordinary preservation of traditional Japanese wooden houses. In the afternoon, walk to the Railway Station to board the JR train to Nagoya, connecting to the high-speed Bullet train to Kyoto. Arrive in picturesque Kyoto; transfer to your hotel by shuttle bus.

Day 7: Kyoto
Sightseeing this morning includes a visit to the majestic 17th century Nijo Castle, seat of the powerful Shoguns. Contin-ue to Kinkakuji Temple with its magnificent Golden Pavilion, the old Imperial Palace (or Higashi Honganji Temple), and the Kyoto Handicrafts Center. Remainder of the day is at leisure to explore on your own.

Day 8: Kyoto/U.S.
Transfer by shuttle to the airport in Kyoto for your departure flight.
